Assemble rc plane

Assembling is a work of concentration and itis time consuming, but on the other hand it is really easy. There are many parts that you need to connect in order to make an rc plane function properly. There are 6 parts that you need to connect to make a basic plane function. Of course you can add more electronics to the plane like, bomb drop, camera, and gyro. Gyro is a small instrument that helps a plane stabalize in mid air.

Motor to Speed controll: I recommend that you use brushless motor for a plane. (see first post for more info on motors)A brushless motor has three wires comming out of it. Hence you need a brushless speed controll which has three wires. If you get a brushed speed controll, it won't work because brushed ESC has  only 2 wores from it. It doesn't matter in what order you connect the wires. After hooking other electronics, your motor doesn't work, try switching any two wires. Another cool thing about brushless motor is that if you switch the outer most wires, the motor will spin backwords.

Receiver: receiver is like the brain of the plane. It controlls all the activities of the plane. I recommend you a get a 6ch receiver and a matching transmitter. on the receiver there are rows of plugs. You may also notice channels from 1-6 on the receiver beside each plug.Thats where you will connect all the other electronics. On most receivers, channel 1 is throttle, in other words you will pluge the three wired small plug from the speed controll to the first channel of the receiver. Make sure you plug it in the right order.Channel 2 you connect theservo that controlls the ailerons which are on the main wing and control the roll of the plane. Channel 3 you connect the servo controll the back wing which controlls the elevators. the elevators controll the pitch of the plane or the up and down. Channel 4 you connect the servo that is connected to the tail wing or rudder. rudder controlls yaw or left, right movement of the plane. Lastly channel 5 and 6 are used for extra stuff on the plane like bomb drop. these two channels will be indicated like switched on the transmitter.

Battery:Lastly you will need to connect a battery. You may notice two wires left on the speed controll. Well thats exactly where you connect the battery. I recommend you buy a lipo battery because it is lighter and lasts longer.

In my next post i will tell how to hook servos to the controll surfaces. please follow!!

How to make RC Planes

Making RC planes is really easy and fun to do. As the previous post to make a RC plane you need many different electronic parts. the parts are motor, speed control, receiver, transmitter, battery, and servos. All these parts come in different types so please see my other post for more info. the first part is making a blue print of the plane. you want to have a very aerodynamic plane but try to make it as light as possible.
After you have a blue print you want to decide what type of plane you want, a foam plane or a balsa plane. it is better to make a foam plane because it is more flexible and durable. EPO foam works best because it is light and cheap. The next step is tracing out the design on the foam, cutting parts out and gluing them together with 5 minutes epoxy.
After you have the skull made you want find a place on the front or the back of the plane to mount the motor. The motor should be tilted a little bit to the right and down because the prop will spin left and get the momentum going to the left as well.then you should place the speed control close to motor because the are going to get connected further in the process. Next you should mount the receiver close to a place easily accessible by you. Also you need servos to move control surfaces. Servos should be placed in the middle of the plane but not a must be. Then you need to hook the servos with the control surfaces using servo rods aka push rods.Last step is to mount a batter. Before you do that you want to find the center of gravity of the plane and make the plane a little bit nose heavy.
I will explain in the next post on how to hook all the wires in the plane to  make it work. please become follower. Thanks
